When there is existing space in the hard drive, accessing the information may be slow because of bad positioning or organization of the stored information. Simply click on “my computer” and then right-click on the drive you want to Defragment. Then click the “tool” tab and then click on “Defragment now”. On a vista operating system computer you would go to “programs” then to “accessories” and then to System Tools and click on Disk Defragmenter and go by the directions shown there.
